2007 Fit Flickering- Help Please
Hi.
New to the forum, but have checked it before whenever I get stumped. I respect the knowledge on here.
I have a 2007 Fit base model- manual trans. 130K km
About a month ago I changed the original irridium plugs to Diamondfire E3's because I was noticing a intermittent stutter at idle. I did not change the coil packs.
It cleared right up and I went on a 5000 km vacation road trip, but while on vacation it started stuttering again and I thought maybe it was fuel related because it started right after fueling in a small town. I have resisted changing the filter because of where it is located.
But then I noticed that my headlights seemed to be flickering. Now the flickering is getting worse and is very noticeable at idle in the morning. Today I noticed as my wife opened the passenger door that the interior dome light is also flickering in a strobe light effect.
I am confused and hope that someone has an idea as to what might be going on. It seems the issue is electrical. Is it causing the stuttering? Is it an alternator/ voltage regulator issue or could bad coils be responsible for the light flickering issues?
Buddy has a code reader. Any point in code reading?
Thanks for your help.

If they have not been done your valves REALLY REALLY need to be adjusted and use the scanner to check for coilpack problems probably has both. And the lights always flicker it's from the ELD doing it's job.
Why do you feel the valves might be implicated in this issue? Do you mean in reference to the engine stuttering?
E3 spark plugs are pieces of garbage.
Drum this inot your head, imports need NGK or DENSO
Very important! NGK and Denso are your imports biggest saviors!! Go ahead and order denso sparkplugs for a 2001 honda s2000. they are a step colder and will allow your car computer to adjust timing more for a bit more power and better gasmileage.
Leave them at the stock preset gap from denso.

Yes this is a common problem in higher millage Fits. The valve adjustment helps a poor idle on cold starts and the plugs and coilpack will "miss" at higher speeds.
Both problems have giant threads on here if you look around a bit.
The car has not been missing under load or at cold start idle.
It is an intermittent issue after the engine is warm and I am waiting at a light. Then it stumbles a bit and recovers.
Thanks for the help. I will search the forum for more info.
My initial concern was that the engine idle faltering was in some way connected to the strobe like effect that I am now experiencing in the headlights and significantly in the interior dome light. It seems that I have my answer.

Discovered another piece of the puzzle today.
It was cool out today so I driving with the windows rolled down and the AC and radio off.
As I pulled up to a stoplight I felt the engine stutter just as the electric engine cooling fan turned on. So I started duplicating the conditions and it is happening everytime the engine cooling fan engages.
Still confused as to why this would happen
