Ok this may sound dumb but this is my first time trying to change anything on my car, but I have a silver fit with the silver insert on my headlights. I wanted to change them to black ones. I know I can ether buy them or bake and paint them. My question is, if I use the oem headlights can I still retro fit halos and hids or should I just buy the lights that have them fitted in already?

 

You can retrofit halos and HID's with the OEM lights, but you will have to bake them to get them apart to work on it. I have no experience with lights that already have projectors in them (all I have seen is ebay stuff and not sure I would trust it). I baked my headlights to change the inserts to black, its not really a big deal, just nerve racking while it is going on.

 

The retrofitted headlight you saw, were they customer fitted or it was made like that? So far, no one makes aftermarket projector headlight for our USDM GD fit.
