Radiator Fan P/N - GD1, L13A

Hi all,

I have a (made in Brazil) 2008 GD1 Fit with L13A (i-DSI) engine. The radiator fan has stopped working and I need to replace it (I checked and I do have voltage at the fan connector so I'm pretty comfortable with the diagnosis; also the A/C fan works fine). I can find some fans on-line in various places and they look correct but I'd really like to be able to confirm the Part Number before I order anything. I'd like to replace just the motor if possible. I can't see the entire P/N with the part installed, but it looks like it ends with 00-5690, and there's a 9J code below that number...

By the way, I live in Panama. The local Honda dealer is a very shady operator and they want $600 for the fan (labor not included). These things are less than $100 in the U.S. and I'd rather pay shipping and duty than give those schmucks my money. But I want to make sure I order the right part... I don't think the L13A engine was ever sold in the U.S. and I don't know if the L15A engine uses the same fan.

Does anyone know how I can find the P/N that applies to my Fit or if the fans are the same for all Fits?

Well, I tore into the car this weekend and removed the fan motor...

The motor is Denso P/N 263500-5690.

Unfortunately this information is nearly useless since Honda doesn't use the Denso P/N in their systems and they can't cross-reference it to their own P/N. Since I can't source a replacement part with the Denso P/N and I have no way to determine the Honda P/N, I'm back at square one...

Like you say the iDSi was probably not sold in US and Denso say on their website that they do not supply OEM parts to private individuals. So you may well have to get the whole assembly.

However I have a iDSi and my Haynes service manual seems to suggest I can replace the motor. Did you manage to take the motor out with fan in place? Haynes manual suggests removing whole radiator and then unbolting.

I guess you've tried directly connecting a battery to the motor? Denso parts should be top quality.

If local dealer doesn't want to let you know what part number the fan assembly is you could try 'phoning a dealer in Brazil.
