Talking 1st to 2nd lugging

Hello everyone, hey I test drove a fit today.. seems like someone tricked it out a little, air filter exhaust rims and lights -- nice little rig. However on the test drive I cracked 2nd gear a little and it was like ra ra ra ra and then it took off like it was running perfect?? Yall are pro fit guys so please let me know what you think

I'm assuming this is a manual transmission...

There are a bunch of possibilities, and you haven't really given enough info to completely sort them out. Perhaps you shifted at too low of an RPM; the Fit's motor likes to rev more than some. Perhaps you didn't get the clutch and gas and shift lever timing down quite right; I know it usually takes me some time in a different car to get a really good feel for those. Possibly you momentarily lost traction in a wheel for some reason and the VSA kicked in (which would be accompanied by a blinking orange light on the instrument panel with a swerving car icon). It's also possible that one or more of the coil packs are on their way out, or not making perfect contact with the spark plugs, or something along those lines...or something else needs adjusting/cleaning on the engine. And there are probably other things I'm not thinking of at the moment.

Thanks drew I suppose I could use some time to dial it in but I am very experienced with manuals and shifting. I did tach it pretty high and also tried many shift points and it did it every time. If it is the coil packs do u happen to know if those are super expensive or not.

Maybe it's running lean due to what I assume is an aftermarket hi-flow air filter.
