No problemo.
It's when it goes CLUNK and won't move that it's a problem.
Wait until you have to drive a manual transmission car WITHOUT a clutch. (clutch failed in my Porsche about 50 miles from home. I made it all the way home without a clutch. What fun!)

You can drive a stick-shift without the clutch, all you have to do is match the revolutions with the actual speed of the car, and to start from 0mph, you turn the car off and turn it on on 1st. Sounds really simple, but in real life you need a LOT of practice driving M/T, and you can really hurt the starter motor. But if you know how to do it, you can do it everyday without damaging anything....

Thinking back to my earlier life as field archeologist I recall one project in Oklahoma where the company was too cheap to fix one of their field vehicles (an ancient Suburban) that had a fried clutch. You had to rev it up to the right speed and then slam the shifter up to the next gear. No Fun At All. But that Suburban lasted thru the entire 6-month project. Of course, lots of folks got sore shoulders from driving it.
