Is there any way to mod or turn the middle brake light into a LED one?

 

I've seen it done but it won't ever turn out like an authentic one. I'm not trying to stop you just want to let you know that the OEM led one is extremely bright

I have the JDM LED 3rd brake light. I think it's a great addition that's relatively cheap and practical.

If you look around the classifieds you may be able to find one for cheap.

 

There are also kits that make the center light flash or strobe when on...

You'll need to order the red bulb for the best results. The backkup lamps also use the same bulb as the high mount brake lamp. Your signals use the 7440 amber lamps, though you can use red ones on the rear legally. You'll notice you can also get the 7443 Stop & Tail bulbs here as well. These are your best options.
