2007 Fit Clutch problems
Hi Folks,
I have a 2007 Fit with a 5 speed manual and 62,000 miles. About 6 months ago the clutch pedal got extremely hard to push, would shift but you had to put an excessive amount of pressure on the pedal. After about a week it went back to normal on it's own. About a month ago I could not get it to shift, it was grinding gears. I checked the clutch fluid level and it was below min. I put more fluid in and bled off the slave cylinder and it worked fine until about a week ago.
I tried filling and bleeding again but the pedal never developed any resistance and just drops to the floor. I replaced the master cylinder bled through one small bottle of fluid and still feels loose (no resistance on the pedal.).
I just removed the air cleaner housing and pushed the slave cylinder and fork with my fingers. The clutch fork is maxed out as if the cylinder is pressurizing it but it is not. When I push back on the fork and slave cylinder the pedal builds pressure again. Sounds like the clutch (fork) is not returning. Would this be the pressure plate potentially?
Thanks for any help!

This happened to me at about 75K. I had to force the shift in 1st and 2nd gear. That lasted a week before the clutch started to whine.
Sucks to say but your clutch is probably bye-bye. To rip off everything to check the clutch or pressure plate you might as well replace the clutch. It you plan to race the car good with something stronger.
Good luck!
