Do the Canadian 1st gen Fits have the telescoping wheel feature?

I'm planning to buy a used Fit in the next couple of months. I test-drove a 2013 and quite liked it, but can't afford a new one. One of my must-have features is the telescoping steering column, but I can't find any specs online for Canadian Fits, only American. Is there a fellow Canuck here who knows whether the telescoping wheel was available on the Canadian 1st gen, and whether or not it was a standard feature on the DX, LX, or Sport? Or even better, a Canadian website where I can look this and other features up?

Thanks in advance!

No telescoping on the 1st gen at all. Unfortunately.

Finding the right driving position isn't too difficult, you can move the seat forward and backwards and find the right position, at least for me. I'm 5' 11" and I find the steering column is in the right place.

The 2nd generation Fit has tilt-and-telescoping column standard on Base and Sport trims.

Well, looks like I'm getting a 2nd gen then! Thanks for the info, I appreciate it. I might go test drive a first gen at a used dealership to see if I can find a comfortable seating position, but I never have managed that in anything less than a full-sized pickup truck. I'm only 6'1'' but my inseam is 37'' (joy of being a woman, all your height is in your legs!). When I tested the 2013 fit I adjusted the seat for a comfortable position for my legs, and then my arms were way too outstretched to drive for long stretches without discomfort. This telescoping wheel thing is a gift from the gods!

Thanks again for taking the time to reply!

The 2013 is, of course, a second generation Fit. It should have had a telescoping wheel (so far as I know, at least).

I don't know about the new GK Fits, but the distance the wheel telescopes on the GE fits (aka second generation) is quite limited—only an inch or two. The wheel is pretty far away when the seat is back no matter how you adjust it.
