Phone charger power cycling

Hi Everyone,

I have a 2007 Fit that has developed a strange problem. When I plug my iPhone in to charge when the car is first started, it power cycles and I have to unplug it. This is with using a lighter plug charger. It has done it with multiple phones and different chargers.
After about twenty minutes of driving, if I plug the charger back in everything is ok.
Has anyone seen this before?
I am suspecting either a battery (new one installed in 2012) or alternator.
Occasionally early in the morning the headlights get brighter/dimmer cycling when the car is first turned on but this stops after maybe 5 minutes. I know this is a known issue for the lights. The phone charger cycling happens even with the lights off.
Thanks for any insight.

Chris

Could be your battery. I left my phone l plugged in filling up for gas and my battery died last year. I swapped a 51R in the 151's place. Go get your battery tested.
