07 Fit Sport Dome LIght

I need to replace the dome light in my 2007 Honda Fit Sport. I found the bulb on the Advance Auto site and can order it but was wondering if I should get an incandescent or led type? the first is $4.99, the led is $12.99. What did the car come with originally? Any recommendations?

Thanks!

Originally it was an incandescent.

Many folks have gone LED on lighting, the extra cost is up to you. With LEDs you can vary the "temperature" (hue) of the lights. If for some reason you are prone to leaving the dome light on (GRIN) an LED will not drain your battery as fast...

You should be able to find the LED elsewhere for less. $13 is outrageous.

Go with LEDs. They are worth the extra money and not only provide more light, they provide better light as well, closer to actual daylight.

Not to mention you'll probably never buy an LED bulb again. They usually can stay lit for almost 3years continuously on. This is why most current car brand interiors use almost all LED because there's less maintenance involved. So paying more for those are equal to if not less than the incandescent bulbs you'd buy over the same time period.

Thanks for the comment. You know where I may be able to get them cheaper?

Yes. See: http://ddmtuning.com/Product-Categories/LED-Bulbs-Lights for further information and to search for the appropriate bulb size. Shipping may take a few weeks because the products tend to come from China on a slow boat, so if you're anywhere near one of their stores in California stop in and see them and save yourself a few weeks' wait.

However, i believe LEDs are unable to fade on or off. They are simply instant on or off.

Get one of those led boards with the correct bulb base. Literally day and night difference.

I use a LED panel from Amazon, somewhere around 5 bucks - 48 panel, looks really nice, took some wiggling to get it in. Much better than the single incandescent bulb. Considering we also don't have a map light so it really helps.

LED's look much cleaner. I just changed my: map, dome, trunk, and license plates lights to a white LED $15 bucks for everything and 2 bulbs for spare off eBay. Here's the link I bought it from.

I went with LED that I got from Walmart think it was 8.99$. If you can handle the true white (looks bluish at first) I would do it... easily 75% brighter with equal or less power consumption.
