My "new" 211kmi '07 Fit

Hi Guys,

Just wanted to introduce myself. Brought home my new-to-me blue 2007 5mt Fit yesterday. 211,000 on the odometer, but only $2900! One owner, no accidents. Hasn't been babied, but also hasn't been thrashed. Engine seems to run great, with the exception of a slightly iffy warm idle. At stoplights it seems to dip and occasionally miss (might not actually be a miss - it's pretty quiet and only a little bit of vibration). Planning on new plugs and filter to start. Any thoughts?

Other than that, it seems to steer more easily to the left than to the right (lighter to the left, heavier to the right), but tracks straight if you let you hands off the wheel. Thinking an alignment is in my future.

Can't wait to learn more on here!

Ian

Wow 211xxx! Plugs yes also check coils. Keep an eye on the oil could be burning slightly.

Thanks for the reply. Plugs and coils on their way. Any particular reason you'd suspect oil consumption?

Congrats. That's an awesome price. Is clutch ok?
Even if you have to put a whole new engine, you would still be ahead of the game.
One of these days I;d like a car like this to travel in it all over North America and to Alaska (tint it so I could sleep in it ).
Enjoy. Welcome to the board.

Clutch seems great. Pics coming soon. Car camping was definitely on my mind when looking at Fits. Coils (and a bunch of other maintenance items) are in the mail and I should be up and running this weekend. Update to follow.

New plugs, coils, driver's headlight, dome light, air filter, cabin air filter, lubed hatch latch. We're in business. Drives MUCH smoother, and the idle is rock steady.

BTW, I got a set of 4 coils on Amazon for $65 total, versus the $65/each cost from the dealer. Seem to work fine so far, and definitely worth trying given the price. Everything else came from Bernardi.

Anyone have any tips on how to get a new key cut and programmed? Bernardi wants $130 for the blank, plus ~$50 to a dealer for programming...

Shoot. Now it looks like I need a new cat...

Anyone got one laying around? Is there an aftermarket that you guys would trust to actually fix the P0420 code?
