Changed spark plugs and coils @ 154,000 on 2011 Fit* Pics

This is from my 2011 MT Honda Fit tonight.


These are the original plugs taken out tonight @ just over 154,000 miles. Replaced with same NGK plugs, and all new beck arnley coils

Overdue?

So Basically, do these plugs look like normal wear after that much mileage? I guess because of all the hype on people having issues with their plugs coming out of their motor and what not.

Also this was the first time a wrench was put to any of these plugs. Never tightened or anything. When I removed them, they were not super loose or super tight.

All looks good. The coil boots are free from soot. That's the tell tale sign on our Fit.

Keep the OE coils just in case. The BA's are not known to be as reliable as Denso or Hitachi.

@ DaytonaFit: You did good. Those plugs look a little tired, but I don't see any problems. Let us know if you notice any improvements in performance with the new parts (I doubt that you will, and that's just fine).

Note: Aside from the fact that our engines are slammed up against the firewall, making it hard to reach the plugs, I don't know why so many people are reluctant to change out spark plugs. It's like with engine oil: People don't want to spend a little money on oil in order to do a lot of good for their cars. Ees loco, mang.

Hey Mister Coffee, your right I wouldn't say anything more performance wise. But it does seem to have a smoother power band if anything and my idle is slightly better. I have recently done a new starter, battery, pads, rotors, mt transmission fluid change, new tires. I always use Mobile 1 full synthetic since day one and did the service myself with a new filter every time the maintenance minder was 0%


Although I have not ever done a valve adj. I am the only owner of this car. It seems fine.

Great Little Car.

Curious why you changed the coil packs. How much $ were they? I can see plugs wearing out but not the coil packs.

Hey spike, I wasn't having any issues or anything with the coils or plugs even at 154,000. I changed them just to change everything to fresh, I'm holding on to the origional coils. I've already put on over 2k miles since the change, and no problems what so ever. The plugs I believe where close to $300 for them all if I'm not mistaken. Ordered them off of Rock Auto

Do you mean $30.00? I bought same plugs / OEM as came with the FIT new locally for $11-$12 each.

I'm just a little old school on some things and would've continued to use the coil packs but I'll change out tires that could go another 3000 miles but winter is coming.
