New Fit Owner Intro

Hi guys,

I just picked up a 2007 Fit Sport. The car is so great and versatile, I love everything about it.

Before I got the car, I'm already planning a headlight retrofit. I purchased a FX-R stage 3 kit from retrofitsource before I even got the car

Now here's my issue, I baked and opened up both headlight housings, but I'm stuck on removing the reflectors. I undid the height adjustment screw and one of the reverse locking tab, but there's another reverse locking tab that I can't get to. Can you guys with the FX-R projectors enlighten me on how I can remove the reflector bowls?

Thinking back, I should have gone with the Mini H1 or Mini D2s projectors for an easier retrofit.

Any advise will be greatly appreciated.

Bump, anyone with retrofitting headlights that can chime in on the reflector removal?
Thanks

Update: Alright, I've figured out how to remove the reflector from the headlight after taking off the lens.

For all fit owners that might consider a headlight retrofit in the future, there are 3 places that hold down the low/hi beam reflector bowl.

1. There is a height adjustment screw that can be unscrewed.

2. There is tube looking clip that can be undone with a flat head screw driver.

3. (The last one, the one that took me a while to figure out) This last spot is a ball and socket mechanism. The headlight needs to be somewhat hot (right out the oven) in order to be popped out. Basically just pull on it and it should pop right out at the socket and at the right temperature.

I'm surprised this forum doesn't get as much activity or camaraderie from fellow Fit owners...

Work has taken up quite of bit of time lately, but I did get around to a couple pictures! (excuse the poor quality of the pics, I don't have a nice camera)

The FX-R projectors I installed are the 2.5 inch version, and with the Apollo shroud, it gave the retrofit an OEM kind of feel.

The FX-R's output is so much brighter than the Mini H1's. My friend said it's like driving in a sea of white light at night.
I'm enjoying everything about this Fit.

Thank you sir!

I just drove the Fit to Mountain High on a snowboarding trip and Las Vegas before the new years. I'm pretty impressed with this car.

Nice retrofit. Are these blinding for oncoming drivers? Do they have DRLs? I would love to do this mod. How much did you spend $$$?

My bad for the late reply. The FX-R projectors along with xB 35 watt ballasts, 4500k D2S bulbs, and harness were all from TRS. I believe total was $315 shipped, I don't quite recall as it's been a while.
I've been driving with these projectors for about 10 months now. They were adjusted to not blind incoming drivers, so I've never gotten flashed on the road. It's simple to adjust how high or low you want your projection with the FX-R's because the projection is so perfect right out the box and it's laser sharp.
I don't have DRL's on the vehicle, just the OEM fogs which I think is only for aesthetic purpose because they're not too bright.
For installation, I just had someone local help me out. Looking bad, it wasn't such a difficult retrofit because this Fit's headlight reflectors were enormous.

If you need any instructions jus PM me.

I've also added some 35% 3M FX tints to the front windows and clear tints to windshield too.

Nice install.

Just to remind everyone, Fog Lights are not meant to provide more light. They are made to let other drivers see you coming, in fog or rain.

If you want more light, do White2010's retrofit or put Driving Lights where the Fit's fogs are mounted.
