Radiator Hose Longevity

110,000 miles on my 2007 GD. Hoses look fine, but at 8 years old, I need to ask: have any of you GD owners replaced your hoses and if so, what mileage? I would think the age of the car is more important than the mileage in this case. Soon I will be driving the Fit across the country. I had the coolant flushed two years ago and I'm debating on whether I should get the hoses switched out before taking the long journey. Thoughts?

I've actually been asking myself the same question, I've got an 07 GD with just under 100K on it. I found them online cheap enough, I wonder how complicated they are to install myself..

Look at them, inspect them, flex'em, if they are bulging or the rubber looks like its deteriorating, change them. Mine still look good @ 100k+

yah, as long as they are in good shape no real need to replace them. they are easy to replace. get new clamps if you are replacing them.

replaced mine with t1r silicone when i flushed my coolant at 200k miles and to be honest they didn't need to be replaced. also if you can't figure out how to change out the hoses please dont do any work to your car lol. (general statement not to you ken)

Thanks to you all. You all seem to be indicating that the OEM hoses last an incredibly long time. My hoses feel as good as new. Regarding the hose clamps, since you brought it up: the OEM clamps are the ones that apply pressure uniformly around the hose, unlike an ordinary hose clamp with a screw that applies pressure only at the point where you turn the screw. Is there a reason why I wouldn't just reuse the OEM clamps that are on there (assuming new ones aren't 10 cents each)?

I have 300k on mine and even though they still appear to be in good usable condition, it's time to replace them since it's not worth the risk. BTW, the price of oem replacements from Honda was surprisingly inexpensive.

You might want to read this tech article by Gates, which deals with potential coolant hose problems.

I have never replaced my hoses. 2007 Honda Fit here. 178,200km on it. Never had an issue.
