belt squeal when hot

Angry belt squeal when hot

my belt squeels when in hot weather and I have no idea what it could be when I turn on ac when warm it gets louder any ideas would help its driving me crazy

Either a bearing is going bad, or you need a new belt. A new belt is around $30 and is a fairly easy DIY to do the install. If one of your rotating parts is going bad, you'll have to figure out which one to know how much it would cost to repair.

As a stop-gap, you could try to increase the tension on the existing belt by tightening it. Belt tension is adjusted by moving the alternator. The best way to do that is to use the procedure in the serpentine belt DIY here:

Today I didn't even hear it much on the car thanks I'm gonna do the belt first I am almost at that cycle anyway so it's kinda due

^^^ Good move. Once a rubber belt starts to squeal, the surface become glazed, making it slippery.

Not wise to try to compensate with more tension....
