Possible bad battery/starter/solenoid
Possible bad battery/starter/solenoid
I have a friend with a 2007 fit sport & today when he tried to start it on his lunch break it would only click repeatedly & dash lights would flicker with the clicking. My guess was that either his battery wasn't holding enough charge to start the car or his starter was going. After some questioning I found out he listens to the radio on his lunch break but doesnt start the engine. He has also been sick & the car sat for 5 days untill yesterday (his 1st day back to work). I figure he could've used up more charge than he should listening to the radio, the battery is going & not holding a good charge, the starter is going & my dad suggested checking connections & solenoid.
I am only a severe amateur mechanic & thought one of the more knowledgeable members might have a better idea.

If I were a betting man, I'd bet money on a discharged and possibly dead/dying battery.
A quick but not very scientific test is to jump start the car, drive for a reasonable spell (fifteen minutes maybe), and see if it starts better afterwards. That doesn't prove that the battery is more than marginally good, but it does demonstrate that the starter, solenoid, etc. are working properly.
Some auto parts stores will do battery load tests for free. If the battery is more than a few years old, it wouldn't be foolish just to replace it regardless as it's likely not far from the end of its life anyhow.
Listening to the radio over lunch (assuming this is on work days where the car is driven in the day otherwise) should not use so much power as to make the car not start, even with the small battery in the Fit. An old battery could have reduced capacity and increased self-discharge such that sitting for a week would make it unable to start the car.

My 07 with the 151R battery would refuse to start if the radio were left on for an hour. Headlights 15 minutes or less and the car would not start. Battery was 2 years old.
New 51R I can run the radio indefinitely and the headlights don't affect much unless left on for about an hour.
Good Luck!
