coolant flush question

The crossover coolant pipe above starter has two small hoses branching out (one for throttle body de-ice and other for EGR valve base.
In my opinion (have not tried this yet), disconnecting small coolant hose form EGR base, turning it around (like 180 degrees on its fitting) and sticking it into the larger hose or narrow funnel may help to drain the block (do this after draining radiator)

re: getting the air out of the system. Newbie here. Online instruction says with the system full of new coolant, put a funnel in top of rad, fill half way with coolant, switch heat selector to hot, fans off, and run car for up to an hour!. Then put a plug in the funnel and take the funnel off.
Is there an easier way to burp the system? much appreciated.

One hour is way too long. Typically the thermostat opens in 10 minutes once the upper hose feels hot, the air will come out you can add some coolant (about 1/3 of the quart and you can put the cap back. Be ready to add coolant next day

thanks. Is it true that you have to use a funnel that has a plug you can put in the bottom, so that you lift the funnel full of coolant off the rad when its done burping? Or can I use a regular ol funnel and just let the coolant in the funnel drain into the rad when its done burping?

I used regular "big blue" funnel to fill most modern radiators with small diameter filler neck. The "remote" filler neck on Fit looks deep enough to accept this type of funnel

Rust inhibitor additive a no-no in Honda antifreeze?
I wonder if it's a liability thing or there's real science behind Honda saying don't use any additive rust inhibitor in their antifreeze. I have a bottle of Bar's Water Pump Lube & Anti-Rust. The answer that it's better to drain and refill with fresh antifreeze is fine, but after a couple years, would some extra rust inhibitor be a bad thing?
