think this is a fairly new problem. My 08 fit is now having periodic radio resets when I'm using A/C and the compressor is coming on. I also see the flicker of the headlamps as the A/C compressor kicks in.

Am I looking at an alternator replacement soon or bigger problem??? I'm considering trading in for a 2016/2017 so I'd like to avoid a costly fix right before if possible.

 

I'd check the tiny battery first. A weak battery could let the voltage drop enough under load to where the radio needs a reset.

Besides the AC compressor, the system also turns on the radiator fans. So this is one of the more power-demanding systems in the car.
