*serious mechanical issue*
Hello,
My 2008 Fit with 300,000 km first displayed a Check Engine light when I bought it September 2015. I pulled codes, misfire. Cleared them and carried on. Not until late December when it got cold it had issues starting. And battery light would come on, occasional check engine light that would disappear shortly. I replaced the battery and weather warmed up with no starting issues or check engine light. To a lesser extent yesterday and more so today it has become sluggish, vibrating, almost jolting at the revolutions. Rattling noise. Now when I reach 100km the engine skips revolutions and engine light back on. I'm assuming it will be a misfire code but will see tomorrow. Does this sound like a timing belt as it's never been replaced? Sound familiar to anyone? Advice? I put a lot of kms on this car myself and rely on it and change the motor oil every 5000km. Thanks for taking time to post. Cheers

If it is a misfire code, do these three things:
1. replace plugs (use OEM Iridium plugs!)
2. Replace coils (Use OEM or Hitachi brand, part number ending in 053)
3. Adjust valve clearance
The '08 has a timing chain, not a belt, so it's not that.
You could save money by relying on the Maintenance Minder to indicate when to change your oil. The MM will reflect variations due to trip length, idle time, and cold weather.
