What is your MAP reading at idle?
What is your MAP reading at idle?
For those who have OBDII scanner with live data could you post your MAP reading on idle (in Park or in neutral for MT) with ECT above 79 degrees C
Thanks!!
Thanks!!
This was a general rule of thumb (but not carved in stone) on most Hondas with a cable operated throttle and speed-density fuel injection, and seems to pretty much work with electric throttle engines and those using MAF (maybe with some slight response differences):
At sea level, at operating temperature, at idle, in park or neutral, zero additional electrical loads, MAP voltage is typically seen in the .80v to .90v range.
(Readings may change with altitude.)
If it is higher than that, say 1.0v or higher, tight valve clearances might be a prime suspect. Some tight valve issues don't even raise the value that high.
A stuck open or leaking EGR can also lower manifold vacuum/raise MAP voltage
