Did a valve adjustment. Runs great but valves are loud now.
I have a 08 manual with 210,xxx miles on the car. During cold days my car would stall out if I don't let it warm up all the way. Come to find out that adjusting the valves would help me with that problem. This past weekend I did a valve adjustment. From the looks of it, no one has ever done a adjustment before on the car. Exhaust side was super super tight. Intake was also tight but not as bad.
So I start to do my adjustment. Let the car sit over night in the garage to do it cold. Went from cylinder #1-3-4-2. From what I read online, everyone says go .030. I went with .029. The reason why I went .029 is so I can use the .030 to make sure it won't fit. (My feeler only goes to .030.) Anyways, .030 doesn't fit and .029 barely fits and drags like how I wanted so I know it's not loose. Same goes for the intake side. I went with .015 and made sure .016 didn't fit.
Starts up and the vales are kinda loud..Definitely can hear them from before. The car doesn't stall out anymore like before but does run good other than the noise. I actually rechecked the valves again and they are on point. So what gives? Has this happened to anyone else? This is actally my first valve adjustment ever and I've been working on hondas for 8-9 years. I'm sure I did well. Let me know what you guys think.
