Just Bought 2007 AT FIT SPORT

Hello Everyone, I am new to this community.

I recently bought(for my sandwichmaker) 2007 Fit Sport AT with 112k miles on it, so far we love the car, no problem but the gas mileage seems low to me. full tank, we are getting 250 or so. I read other post and find out about tune up stuff. im not sure about ex-owner, i have no idea about service!

im planing to change

-AIR FILTER
- CABIN FILTER
-SPARK PLUGS
-REPLACE COOLANT
-REPLACE TRANSMISSION OIL
-ENGINE OIL/FILTER

Anyway, my questions which brand/model/part etc.. for parts, should i use?
and what can i do more for better MPG.

thank you

edit:whats up with coilpacks? whats wrong with specifically 2007 models?

The "corrected" EPA is 27 mpg city on A/T sport. (In 2008 EPA revised the mpgs for 2008 that has same engine as 2007)
The old style coils are failing due to terminal oxidation, internal shorts or insulation failure
Typically #3 and 4 are affected

i did some search...

for spark plugs i believe
NGK #6774 or Denso SKJ20DR-M13 Iridium Plug
and needs to be .048 gap?!?

for coils pack
Hitachi IGC0053 Ignition Coil

air filter & cabin filter will be oem.

for tranny Fluid. is this correct one?

Genuine Honda Fluid 08200-9008 ATF-DW1

^^^ All good. Nice research! The plugs come pre-gapped. (at least the NGK 6774 does)

While engine air and cabin filters are good to inspect, if they look clean you can save them for later. (I vacuum our cabin filter yearly & replace it every other time).

DW-1 is the correct ATF.

I think it's a good idea to also change brake fluid and transmission filter too. There should be some DIY threads on this forum if you search around.

I have the same car as you, and I was getting an average of 20MPG before April.

After that, I changed the tires to the correct size, coils (Hitachi IGC0053), plugs (NGK 6774 AKA IZFR6K13), air filter (K&N, there is a lot of dust where I live so I go with this, but some people usually avoid this filters), and of course oil and oil filter (I now use Valvoline MaxLife High Mileage 5W-20, and Mobil 1 M1-110 oil filter). The MPG went up to around 23 or 24 MPG, but I drive mostly in city and make line almost every two days. One trip I had a couple of months ago in Highway the MPG went up to 35MPG, so in Highway I am actually getting the right MPG. Last MPG from today was 26MPG.
