Honda Jazz ABS failure - pump needed? Anyone got experience with this?

I had my ABS light on the car since I bought it, it's the car test time now and had the car in checked what's up with it.after paying for diagnostic they said it's ABS pump which needs replaced and that it's quite common problem on these.
A bit gutted, since the car has been totally reliable so far in any other way.
However they said if you replace this abs pump there might be another problems as well with abs and other parts might need changing as well.

Wanted to ask maybe anyone has had this problem and how did you fix this? and did changing the ABS pump solve the problem? I see you can buy a 2nd hand abs unit for about 50pounds so not that bad, but if anything else after that needs changing as well..that might be a problem.
Also I saw some people had mentioned they had sent their unit in to get fixed, is there any way just to fix the old unit myself perhaps?

Thanks in advance!
oh and I have a 2004 Jazz (Fit)
