variable valve timing oil pressure switch low voltage

so i just bought an 07 fit manual tranny.

it threw the code associated with this and i changed the sensor (located on top of engine to the left of the air filter, takes a 22 socket to remove, took all of 2 minutes to swap.

i cleared code by unplugging battery for 30 minutes and code was gone till i drove it for maybe 30 minutes and it threw same code again, the oil is new (changed by jiffy lube, only cause the day it was done it was storming out and i didnt feel like getting rained on)

when it threw the code this time it also went into limp mode, i went to autozone had code read, told them i just changed that sensor 2 days ago...i pulled sensor and put it back, when i drove car it was no longer in limp mode but light was still on....got it home and changed plugs and coils (new to me car, i always do this) and have cleared it again....

ive heard about a small filter screen inside the housing the sensor sits in...could this be the culprit? because the wires are good, the sensor is good..

Filter should be the prime suspect and the starting point (common issue with older Preludes; in the past a filter deletion was typical budget "repair" for dirty engine before flipping the car). Also test the solenoid by using 9 volt alkaline battery (it should click).
I will also suspect incorrect oil viscosity or long overdue oil change

The solenoid has 2 pin connector; 2 wires coming to it
Mark location of the BLACK wire on the solenoid connector and unplug the connector
using 9 volt battery (not fresh out of the box but slightly used for safety) and jumper wires with alligator clips connect negative terminal of the battery to the previously marked solenoid pin then make brief connection between positive terminal of the battery and the other pin of the solenoid. It should click (and stay open as long as power is applied however make this test as quick as possible) If partially charged 9 volt battery is not available use non-LED test light

in place of 1 jumper. The lamp will be on and solenoid will click.
If lamp is on and solenoid is not clicking it is stuck and must be cleaned or swapped for a good used one

Finally found a leaflet explaining how to troubleshoot the system (from Napa, applicable to 91 trough 2007).
Jiffy lube may put 20W50 oil instead of 5W20.
Back in 2001 my friend had 5.0L 1990 Caprice which required 5W30 oil but the Jiffy lube put 10W40 every 3000 miles oil for longevity The car crossed 300,000 mark averaging 10mpg, but this may not work for our Fit

Update

I pulled the solenoid, cleaned the screen with brake cleaner and after 25 miles the engine light has come back on...but it did not go into limp mode.... i could rev past 4k rpm with no issues. Could battery be the culprit? It has a no brand battery in it, i want to exhaust all, possibilities before i drop 170 dollars for a,new solenoid

If solenoid clicked during the test, dump the oil and pour new oil of correct viscosity.

I'm surprised that a variance this small (5W30 vs. 10W40) would affect a late-model Japanese car like the Fit. By the same token, I'd be surprised if running an oil level below the dipstick high mark (but above the dipstick low mark) made a difference to performance. Used to be that the tolerances weren't so tight, but maybe, as Bob Dylan once said, "things have changed."

2005 Chrysler 300 Hemi sets the code "incorrect oil viscosity" p1521 if wrong oil viscosity was used. Saw this on my co-worker's car after oil change (the CEL is not illuminates)

So no code for vtec? great.
Is new code you get P0420?
I never tried this myself but try installing O2 Minicat Sensor Spacer Adapter Extender https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon....1xuL96IXFL.jpg
If code disappears the catalyst may need replacement

The GD solenoid is activated by a combination of RPM(ECU) + 50lBS of oil pressure..

The VTECK valve is held on with like 3 bolts, if you've only changed the solenoid the valve may be stuck?

I'd take the whole thing off and give it some cleaning..

Its sealed with a o-ring type seal..
