No power, no crank, no lights,
No power, no crank, no lights,
So yesterday while I was pumping gas at my local Safeway and my fit decided it didn't want to start back up. Like I went to put the key in the ignition and it did the normal beeps to tell me that the door was open but when i went to turn the car on I put my foot on the clutch and turned the key and I got a little click and then nothing. No lights on the dash or beeps. So my car was not going any where any time soon. I had to walk up to my girl friends, friends house to get a jump since she only lived up the street. Once we did that it started up again and I was able to get home. The little battery light on my dash wasn't on so I didn't think it was my alternator. When I got home I turned the car on and off a couple times and it worked just fine. But when I went to try to drive today and the same problem came to light again. I went to get my battery 're charged but I was told that the battery was fully charged and the chances that the alternator being the issue was low because my cold cranks were good at 425.
I don't know what's going on. Please help.

Sudden complete loss of electric power when starting implies a bad connection somewhere at the battery--either a loose wire connection to the battery, or a bad/rusted out ground connection to the frame, or a wire that's corroded where it connects to the terminal, or something like that. I rather doubt either the battery or the alternator is bad.
(There is also a big whole-car fuse at the battery connection, but that's not the problem in as much as it comes back and works again.)

Try to twist or spin the battery terminal connections. If they spin you have a poor connection.
I've needed to install battery terminal shims on more than one Honda or Mazda. Even tightened up as much as they will go, they are 'too big' for some replacement batteries.
