car won't start, has power

Hi Fellow Fit Freaks,

My '09 Fit Sport won't start and I'd like to know if you guys have any ideas as to why. When I turn the key, the dash lights up every icon. I can still turn the lights on, so I don't think it's a battery issue. The engine doesn't even attempt to start -- I can't hear it at least. Also, when the power is on, the horn is very quiet. It's barely a whimper when I honk it. When the power is off, it honks at normal volume. Any ideas?

Thanks,
FitNewb

Just went to try to start the car again. Often when the key is turned, the backlight on the dash goes on and off in regular intervals accompanied by a clicking sound. Very weird...

thanks

Thanks. I think you're right. What confused me was that I could still turn my lights on. I'm used to everything being dead when I've had battery trouble.

Thanks again,
FitNewb

remember, car needs a 12v voltage to start

now if the battery has less, the light will still turn on and the honk will "meep meep" but if theres not enough voltage the car wont even crank

Yes this is definitely a battery issue.
