Hi. I need to replace the driver's side mirror on my daughter's 2008 fit. I got a replacement and see a nice vid and an instructable on replacing cover (for LEDs), but has the basics. 2 Questions if anyone has done this. 1) I believe the vid and instructions (with pics) I've found are for a 2nd Gen wonder if there is any significant difference in replacing Gen 1 vs 2. 2) The vid and instructions say to remove the speaker. Is that necessary and if so, why, or is that just because they need to access for the LED cover wiring or is the wiring or harness connected in some way other way to the mirror wiring. I can't figure?

I wound up replacing the passenger side mirror on an '08 Sport maybe five or six years ago. Not difficult but futzy, and no need to remove the speaker. I agree with kbh in that post above, gotta be careful reinstalling the wiring to make sure you don't slice it when raising/lowering the window.
