Sideview mirror glass cracked HELP

My drivers side mirror was smacked ay another car yesterday. The glass is broken as is the collar that mounts it to the door. I'm not sure what my options are to fix this.

I see entire units on sale cheaply on Amazon, but they are not painted, and I'm wondering the quality. Can I just replace the mirror and collar? How do you do that? can I buy just the collar? The electronics still work. Can you buy parts that come painted the original blue?

Thanks in advance.

Travis

They are available from Honda as a complete painted unit. Comes with the whole assembly including mirror and collar for a little over $200.

I know that's not the cheapest option, but it will save you a whole bunch of work/hassle trying to repair that piece.

Other option is to use car-part.com and search for one at a junkyard in your area. They seem to go for $100-125 used.

I'm too picky about scratches to go that route, but if the rest if the car isn't so great, that may make more sense.

Thanks Gafit.

I called Honda this am just to see what the worst case senario is. They said the whole unit was 260 (thanks for the link!). But that I could also buy that collar piece for 85.

So in your opinion just trying to replace that collar piece is a PIA? The car is a seasoned NYC vehicle, i.e., pretty dinged and dented. Either way I have to take the inside door panel off which seems like the biggest challenge. I wish there was a used source someplace.

Perfect trip to include the significant other if you have one. "Hey, I need to run an errand while we're out for lunch." Won't they be thrilled when you pull up to a junk yard!

Happy hunting!
