Question Mud flaps / splash guards + Fit Base

Am installing Honda Splash Guards on my 2013 Fit Base. Was thinking of putting a bead of silicone between the guard and the Fit body before the final installation after fitting. Wondered what any of you guys who have done serious mods think in this?

There's some adhesive that is on the mudflaps from the factory, it will keep it fairly tight to the body as long as you clean the surface before you install it.

I wouldn't put any silicone on the body, you don't really need it.

"some adhesive that is on the mudflaps from the factory"

About 1 and 1/2 inch of double sided tape. I talking about a bead of silicone glue all the way around. It peels right off when no longer needed. Sure would help keep from getting all the road crap/salt from behind the splash guard in the winter time. Left the "e" off the end by mistake on first post.

It probably would not hurt to put the bead of silicone. Normally the double sided tape is very strong and adequete if the surfaces are cleaned properly. In the sake of salt deflection it probably wouldn't be a bad idea.
