I'm interested in getting a primered Mugen rear bumper, and I was wondering about a couple of things. How much should I expect to pay for paint matching + clear coat? Would there be a big price difference between going to the dealer and other body shops? How long would the job usually take?

 

After backing into a signpost, I ordered a new bumper a couple of years back and had it painted then installed it myself. I think it was around $200 at a body shop. I recently got a couple of estimates to repair the rear bumper on my daughter's Civic, and the dealership was a little cheaper than a local body shop.

Here in Cali you'd spend about $500 at a dealer and $150 at a body shop to paint match if you do all the prep work yourself and they just paint. Wait time of 2-3 days. Ask me how I know, lol.

 

Honda dealer said $200 for sanding, primer and color match. Mmmm
