Floor mats

Hi All,

I just bought a Honda Fit Sport T white, and I need to get floor mats. Anyone have suggestions. I think spending $100 bucks at the dealership is excessive. I'm still undecided on getting carpet or all weather mats. What did y'all get and why? Any good websites to buy mats from?

Thanks!

Mike

Went with the OEM rubber mats, excellent quality and fit. They are available from Handa accessories and College Hills Honda for a better price than the dealer.

i just reused the general all weather mats i had in my centra at a time i was trading it in for the Fit. had to put those mats somwhere so i just put them where they supposed to be. somehow this temporary arrangement just stayed there for almost 3 years now. not the most precise match but i find that i completley don't care for it.

its 100$ now? nuts!

Bernardi has the all weather mats for around $70 instead of $120 or so. Those are a must for me. I went almost a year without any mats and could already tell that the carpet was wearing out.

I have yet to find generic floor mats that would fit my Fit or Prelude properly. I'm a cheap bastard, but I sucked it up and bought factory mats for each of my Honda's because the alternatives just didn't cut it for me. Also, the hooks are a nice feature to have.

I think there a few threads here where some peeps cut out some from bigger rubber mats and some dude who screwed generic mats to the liner carpet. Creative, but I couldn't be bothered to spend the time or effort.

I had OEMs put in when I bought the car. I think they are not deep enough for snow country so I picked up a nice set at WalMart for about $13. I had to cut a bit off the front driver side and not as much off the passenger side. They FIt rather well. I just put them over top of the OEMs for now.

Here is another option for those needing mats for their Fit, I have these in an Odyssey and they work great, trapping water and dirt and keeping the inside clean.

WeatherTech - All-Weather Car Floor Mats by WeatherTech - traps water, road salt, mud and sand

+1 for WeatherTech
They fit like a glove. Rear is all one piece. Expensive though. 170 bones to oufit the Fit!

I have to recommend you not use third-party generic mats either alone or on top of OEM mats like some others have said. You don't want to end up dead in a ditch because your gas pedal got stuck under your floor mat. OEM mats are designed to be and should be anchored (at least on the drivers' side) to the floor for safety.

EDIT: Just wanna note that the Weathertech mats anchor properly to the OEM anchor points, so they would be safe as well. Just don't use a mat that's not specifically designed for the car.

The all weather mats from Honda are nice and made especially for the car so that stay put. I have heard Weathertech makes some great mats too.
