Single-Din Install

I'm currently trying to put an aftermarket single-din stereo in my 2010 Fit Sport, and just need a little bit of help. I bought the OEM Navi dash and bracket from Bernardi and the wiring harness and antenna adapter from Amazon. The only thing left is a good bracket to make it all seem as OEM as possible. Would this work?

DASHKITS SCOSCHE HA1563B Dash kit for mounting an aftermarket radio 1990-up Honda/Acura Mounting Kit with molded pocket and rear support;

I know there's been talk about the Pilot kit, but I think that is only if you're installing an aftermarket double din, correct? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Just get the Scosche or Metra dash kit for the 09-up Fit. It has everything you need and it's easier than monkeying around with components from different manufacturers.

Besides the obvious adapters for the specific aftermarket headunit, do you need any other parts for the install?

Anyone photos of this in the dash to see how it looks?

Damn, just realized this kit won't fit the 2011.

Looks like I just have to wait.

I thought that the 09-10 dash kit would work for the 11. I am about to buy one myself. The Metra website does not show a dash panel for the 2011 but Scosche says their dash panel works for 2009-2011, and if you specify a 2011 Fit at Crutchfield, they also show it is available. A car stereo installer told me to get Metra brand if possible, though. Does anyone know for sure if 09-10 dash kits fit a 2011?

Doubtful, as the 11 relocated the Airbag light (from what I can tell)

That's why I've been waiting.

I don't think they did. Look at the 2011 or 2010 Fit with Nav and you will see that the airbag light is at the bottom on this panel, which appears identical to the aftermarket panels. And the 2010 and 2011 non-nav radios look identical, with the indicator at the top. I would hope there is enough cable length to mount the indicator in either place.

Surely there is someone with an 11 who has installed an aftermarket radio that would know, but amazingly, I have not found this discussed in my searches of the forums.

Metra is based out of Holly Hill here in FL where I am, give them a call and see what they can tell you. They may have a kit in the works if the change is something that simple as a button move. 800.221.0932

I'm basing this off the Metra site. If you look at the 2010 product they offer, it shows the airbag light at the bottom. I didn't see any kit that had it in the upper left.

The 2011 Fit Sport with nav panel has it at the bottom, too, just like it did in 2010 and 2009. What I am saying is I think that any double din mount must have it at the bottom, so the airbag light must be relocatable. Whether or not you have to splice the airbag light cable to lengthen it to reach the bottom mounting hole is the question. I would imagine that, for ease of assembly and commonality in constructing the cars, it should be of sufficient length to reach the bottom of the panel, but I am not sure.

I received a PM from someone who said he installed a double din with the light mount on the bottom. He had to "separate the wires" which I assume means cut a zip tie, but the indicator reached the bottom of the panel without having to splice it.
