Installing Deck (Pioneer Premier DEH-P790BT)
Hey everyone.
So i just got a deck for the fit, single din. I was wondering what i need to install it. I just ordered the deck online (got a wicked deal). So what else do i need? any wires? dash kit?
Thanks for any help!

I Young Fledge, I have the DEH-P980BT and I love it! I just got my dash kit with all the wiring harnesses and stuff from Crutchfield. I don't buy much else frmo them due to their rediculously high prices but the kit wasn't too bad and it was garunteed to be the one I needed which it was. When ripping the factory deck out, try to see where all those little metal clips go flying cuz you really need at least 75% of them on the new dash kit for it to stay put without moving around. You will be really suprised at how much better those factory speakers sound when you get it hooked up also! (the factory speakers have got to be the cheapest speakers I have ever seen. The magnet is the diameter of a quarter probably and the basket is 100% plastic!)

awesome. thanks sir. I think i am getting professionally done... hopefully they know that i need a dash kit.
And i will probablly replace the speakers next.... its a DX though... i wonder if its worth it to get rears as well... i wonder if i would even hear them or if i should just get some really nice components up front.

Stock speakers are poop but the magnets are actually great. Honda uses neodynium magnets VERY VERY powerful for their size. They are the equivalent of roughly an 8oz ferrite magnet. So average OEM speaker size.

My new infinity's will be here today I want to wait for the amp to get here also but I think I am run some wires up to the deck so if I have to use my trunk I can take the amp out and still have tunes by connecting the deck to the new speaker wires I've run. Trying to figure out the best way to connect/disconnect all of this though.

This is only for short periods of time, and keep in mind that I have 12 gauge speaker wire and none of its going more then 50 ft and it's only 22 watts RMS so I don't think the resistance is going to be an issue.

you need a wiring harness and a dash kit. my dash kit was about 200 dollars list. but mine is double din. it came with all of the ac controls. its easy to remove the old on but you might need new clips for the new kit. they are strong and when you take them off it makes them weaker.

awesome... i didnt know crutchfield was that cheap... i expected it to be expensive.
Just ordered the dash kit, wiring harness and antenna adapter for 81 shipped.
Now i am trying to decide if i should install it myself... i have never done an install before but i am guessing it cant be that hard.
what do you all think?

behind the glove box are 3 cables that go to your ac doors. unclip the cables. under the ac controls are 2 screws. remove those. and the bottom bezel comes off. there are 2 more bolts i think they are 10mm under that bezel. remove those and the dash kit pops off. the clips are tight so be careful. then unplug the connectors and remove assy. with ac cables. and reinstallation reverse order. u might not have to use the 10mm bolts for reinstall. depending on what the dash kit looks like. the harnesses are easy just match up colors and soder. some wires dont need to be used.
