radio kit color way off on 2012
I just bought a 2012 sport w/o navi. Bought the scosche dash kit w/ my new clarion cx501 and the color is totally off. It looks like the silver from my old Element, not the dark gray of the Fit.
So:
1: Since I've never seen the interior of a 2009-11, did the color change for 2012?
2: Does anyone have a double-din dash kit that matches?
I know they haven't been out very long, but I picked mine up off the lot, so they've made it through all the pre-orders and are selling regular stock.
Also, just curious, but why doesn't anyone make a "stealth" sub for the 2009+? Did the rear cargo area change that much that its not worth anyones time to make one? Did it change at all for 2012? I'm thinking that in the 4th model year, someone should have made one by now...
Thanks!

The OEM trim kit is better anyway in that the mounting hardware is metal and actualy bolts to the dash. The Scosch/Metra kits are all plastic. At least makes it a little difficult for thieves.
The Trunk area of the '12 has not changed. Several members contacted JL for a GE stelth box in the past but hey have no plans to make one in the near future.
You can allways make your own. Heres mine:

As well I decided to go w/ the OEM faceplate. It took a bit of work w/ the dealer to get the part code, but I can confirm its the correct one:
77251-TK6-A01ZB
Looks like they just updated from the "A" at the end to the "B". You still need the bracket kit:
77255-TF0-000
The one thing that was still missing were the screws to hold the bracket to the trim, but the ones from the Scosche kit I got free worked. I'm sure there is probably a dealer code for those 4 screws too.
And in huge props to Clarion (I bought the nx501), they include a trimmable trim plate (even grooved to keep your knife in place). I trimmed off 2 slots on each side and sanded a bit to get the perfect fit. Looks awesome.
