Hi,

I have 2008 Honda fit sports version 138K miles. From lats couple of days i am facing problem with starting my car, after ignition off and removing keys car doesn't start and everything becomes dead, lights, keys less fob all dead but when i use jump start it works. i went to store and checked my battery and alternator everything is fine. also when i do ignition off fuel guage also behaves abnormally, sometime it shows fuel meter even after ignition off.

please help me understand whats wrong with the car.

Look at your car battery terminals. Are they corroded? Are the connections tight?

If they are corroded, take the battery cables off and clean the terminals with a brush and some baking soda.

If they are loose, tighten the terminals up and see if that helps.

If neither of those work, then we can try a few other options.

 

Thanks, I went to local shop and they checked battery and Alternator both looks good.

 

Did they actually check the connections of your battery? Or only the battery itself?
