I am a new member here, and i need to know if there is any reason why the key won't go in the door to open it? I have sprayed in it Grafit and it still refuses to let me enter the key so i can get in the car. What is the cost to have it fixed? any ideas are helpful. It is a 2010 base Honda Fit and it has 135,000 miles on it. I have loved it for 9 years and had no problems until this. Thanks.
So it's basic to ask but you sure someone didn't try to hammer in the lock cylinder trying to steal it? It's a pretty simple mechanism. If so it's a matter of replacing and re-keying the door. If you're stateside it's about an average of $70-90 dollars to rekey doors like that. You can save yourself a few dollars by removing the door card yourself and have it ready for the locksmith to work on. Doorcard comes off pretty easy, I'm attaching the two pages of how the door is put together.
