ABS, VSA, E-Brake Warning Lighted
ABS, VSA, E-Brake Warning Lighted
Hi guys,
I wonder if you have encountered this issue. All 3 warning lights came on after driving around a short while in my Auto GE8 and it disappears after shutting off and restarting the car.
Used a diagnostic tool and got a 121-11 error code. Checked the DTC and it says VSA Solenoid Valve Malfunction. Further checking refers to Right-Front or Left-Rear Valve Regulator.
Is the Valve Regulator part of the ABS pump as in the metal part with the attached metal hoses or the plastic module. The diagram I searched online is some what incomplete. What is the cause of this and do I need to change the entire unit to solve this issue.
Thanks.

Hows that for a wordy sentence?
I'll attach documentation of my findings.
Switching to hip-fire. We both know well enough what a valve is, what regulates said valve however should be an electronic control module, or plastic thingy. If you could find a replacement I do believe you would still have to go through honda to program and update it's software since it has it's own brain and retains codes even when disconnected from the battery.
The troubleshooting procedure I found for a 2012 USDM (which supposedly varies from previous model years, though I'm unsure as to how) suggested first clearing the code and waiting for it to reoccur. Second step was to have the software updated. Though personally I can't imagine why this would be necessary, it may be relevant to your situation. This procedure to my knowledge would require use of the Honda Diagnostic System tool. After that, unit replacement was recommended.
Tell me your thoughts and we'll go from there I suppose. I do have more reference material for the VSA system, spanning about 200 pages, so we aren't at a stopping point yet.
Apologies for the late response.
Apologies for the late reply. Thanks for the help and pointers. I truly appreciate your assistance. I have just flushed out the brake fluid as it didn't look promising at all. Was quite murky and no longer clear as it used to. Hope this can solve this issue. Then I ll clear the error code and we ll see how it goes before I decide to replace the entire module.
I like that idea and hope it works. It seems questionable to assume that old fluid could cause issue, unless water was introduced or level was low. Ah, I guess the case of hydraulic fluid v. time is a simple fight against corrosion/sludge (the result of mysterious exhausted additives). Crossing fingers for yuh.
Just to share with everyone the final outcome. Well after trying so many possible ways to solve this issue, in the end I got me a junkyard unit and replaced it. And it solved the problem. VSA and ABS is back to normal.

I'm not happy about what I was able to gather for you in so much as the VSA is referred to as a unit and I have no knowledge of or material reference for repairing it, only replacement.

Please kindly give the complete document, I want to update the abs module of my car
To femioloks, I can only upload a couple pages from the Bishko service manual at a time. It's useful for troubleshooting specific faults, but the transfer of some 200 pages here would be a bit difficult to organize. If there's a specific thing, I can put it up for you when I get home. If yuh want the full document however, it can be obtained quite reasonably in disc form from amazon. I've got a link for you right
.
Hi able to ask what u replace??
