Seat foam shavings underneath?

Since I've had my Fit, I noticed this on the driver's seat (for obvious reasons) and took them out to vacuum this up. Didn't think anything about it. Now I've noticed it is doing it on the passenger side as well. The average time a passenger sits in my car is maybe 30 minutes max a week.

Does anybody have this issue? I plan on getting 09-11 Sport seats down the road, but this is pretty annoying.

I have never had this problem.
I hope you don't have a rodent hitchhiker.

Doubt it. Rodents tearing into seats are too distinctive. When I took the drivers seat out, it was nothing like that.

Besides, this car had no A/C for years. Rarely use it now. Don't think anything would survive in here.

It might not occur while a person is sitting, but during the act of sitting down or getting up.

I have seat covers with foam padding. That foam padding is almost completely disintegrated, but only on the outer side near the door. I noticed that it gets "used" a lot when I sit down or turn to get up.

That makes sense. I'd rather have that happen to seat covers than actual seats haha.

im confused, why would you think this is a "dumb" question? the driveshafts in these cars are known for corroding to the point of snapping ...so much so of an issue that there is a recall, and yours are rusting, so this seems like an important logical question. even some of the ones that ive seen that had snapped appeared to only look like surface rust. definitely replace yours if the warranty doesnt cover 09s.
