Using IPE, or even stronger wood, for additional support with a jack and jack stands?

They're just trashy pittsburg stands. I've run over one of the smaller ones and it still worked. I'd be far more concerned about uneven surfaces and bad lifting points. I avoid the bulk of stuff at HF. Their jacks are unpredictable, torque wrenches unreliable, bleh.
Feel free to go with fancier stands though. The height of the 6 tons requires a good sized jack, myself using a 2.5 ton purchased from costco long ago. Low profile ones likely wont reach.

Gotchya. Thanks.

Oh, regarding ipe wood, I was looking at this website to possibly purchase some: https://buyhardwood.advantagelumber....nal-sizes.aspx

You can always just do a google search to find out more information on it, and discover how saw blades and such have a difficult time cutting through this incredibly dense wood (it is even resistant to rotting, lasts for decades, and has a fire rating equivalent to steel and concrete!). xD

So it's $39 (on sale) for a single piece for a 1x6x12. They use nominal dimensions so you'll need 14 pieces to get 10" high. That comes out to $546 (plus about another $100 for freight shipping) for something you're going to have to build yourself. A quality set of 6 ton jacks (overkill for the fit) that have been tested and designed for this purpose and are assembled and ready to go will run ~$50. Heck you could buy industrial 22 ton stands used for heavy equipment and still have money left over.

Haha. Isn't that something! Yeah, not very practical then.

I did want to get 6 ton jacks, but then needed to purchase a much more expensive jack, so I went with the 3 ton set instead, which are around 11" when not raised at all. 11" will raise my fit well off the ground!

The only worry now is if the welding on the jack stands I ordered will be good enough for years to come. Based off customer pictures on Amazon, some of that welding on those jack stands is really bad.
