2010 Honda Fit base model upgrades?

Howdy,

first off, I’m not a car guy, I apologize in advance.

i have a 2010 base model Honda Fit and had a few questions.

i am wanting to add fog lights to the front bumper. I know there are kits available. I would like to replace the front bumper cover, as it has seen better days. Is it possible to just buy a sport model bumper, since it has the cuts already for the fog lights?

if the 2010 sport model bumper doesn’t fit, I was thinking maybe canon fiber ?

I also have the base model 15in wheels, can I upgrade those to 16in ?

I am also planning to replace the headlight assemblies as both are yellowed/ cloudy and scratched up and was wanting to upgrade to LED

and finally, is the k&n air intake worth it ?

sorry for all the questions and thanks in advance for the help. I’m basically having a mid life crisis, but smart enough to know that I don’t need a whole new car.

If you're planning to upgrade to the sports model front bumper cover, make sure that you get 2009-2011 model. The front grill is different to the 2012-2013 model due to the minor face lift.

16" wheels are compatible but make sure the offset is around 40+ degrees without adding hub centric spacers. I would recommend pairing the wheels with tire size: 195/55/16

Generally intakes will only increase the grunt of the engine with minimal gains in terms of performance.

At the end of the day it is your vehicle, do what you what makes you happy. I'm just giving you my two cents.

One idea is to try some DIY maintenance and cleaning.

Research cleaning, polishing, waxing videos. You can also super-clean the windows and interior.

Change the oil, oil filter, and air filter.

If you have the original spark plugs, do some research here on new ones and a retorque.

There are also some intake cleaning procedures posted here.

You could also have a shop do a run-through for any deferred maintenance items (brakes, fluids, valve clearances, general checkup). Several fluids need to be replaced at time intervals.

thanks ! Yeah I replaced the air filters and oil filter with K&N . I didn’t even think about the spark plugs. Any recommendations?

Install one of these. https://www.sprintbooster.com/
Simple plug and play. You'll like it.
I've had mine for about a year now on my 2010 Fit....best add-on I've ever purchased.

MT or AT? I wonder how useful it is on an MT car.

Mine is an MT
I don't think it would be as useful on an auto tranny.
It's amazing how much more pep it gave my car. From a stoplight...I'm usually first now. Without it..I was normally always last.
It's almost like having two vtec points. Fun it is..
The only downside for mine was...the mpg went from 41 down to about 39...unless I baby it.

You definitely can upgrade your wheels to 16's with no problems. The bolt pattern for fits is 4x100 which gives you MANY options (I own a Fiesta ST w/ bolt pattern 4x108 which has very limited options). I read in the forums that it's a good idea to keep the offset at a minimum of +45, but like the other member said maybe +40ish will be a good fit. But most importantly, if you do decide on new wheels do not skimp out on quality tires. Even if you don't go for performance summer tires, make sure you get quality all seasons. Good tires are one of the best mods you can do to ANY car. Your braking, accelerating, and cornering will all be greatly improved with a nice set of rubber. Good luck!

denso ik22 spark plugs, valve adjustment, some light 6.5 or 7 inch wide wheels. Good tires!

Now about this throttle controller..
I checked their site and couldn't find a graph showing output voltage. I had a different make of throttle controller before and it did some rev-matching bs when you stepped on the gas. I made a super crummy image to demonstrate the voltage as the pedal was depressed.

right side is pedal to the floor

It was an Apexi. Does yours increase output steadily?

^^^ Did you watch the video that I linked?
No exaggeration....the first trial run I made with it...I set it for almost the highest setting. (You know...gotta find out sooner than later!)
I came to my first stop sign and meant to turn right. I stepped on the gas as I let the clutch out while looking over my left shoulder for any traffic I missed.
The car jumped...when I twisted my head back to where I was going....I had almost done a u-turn without trying! I had to quickly steer back to the left to keep from going in the ditch. Now I drive mine at about the halfway setting....that's plenty.

Hey everyone, so I replaced all my brake, parking, reverse/backup and turn signal lights lights with led’s. Just noticed that the Turn signals have hyper flash, is it necessarily a bad thing, besides being annoying? I know I’ll have to install load equalizers if I want it to stop. I just don’t like doing work that isn’t necessary.

thanks to everyone for the recommendations on stuff to do with my Fit. This is a lot of fun tinkering with my car, but can see how this can quickly get expensive.

I was looking at these headlight assemblies to replace the current ones:

Driver and Passenger Headlights with Grey Bezels Replacement for Honda 33150TK6A01 33100TK6A01 AutoAndArt
Amazon Amazon

Im skeptical about the price as OEM ones are twice that amount

Centric rotors and stoptech sport pads have served me well.

Also another guy gave the wrong info. 185/55/16 is the correct tire size for your car if you want to use 16” wheels.

i added load resistors to both my 2007 and my 2010 honda fits. it was very easy. "lessons learned" from the 2007 made this very easy.

1. strip a nice length of jacket from the wires on the resistors.
2. remove turn signal bulb from its socket.
3. place the stripped wire ends of the resistors INSIDE the socket where the bulb goes. 1 side on negative, another on positive. orientation does not matter.
4. push bulbs back into their sockets and they will make a connection to the resistor and that is it. i used keychain rings on my resistors and just hung them inside by the lights out of the way. apparently they get very hot so you just want to make sure they arent resting against wires or something plastic. obviously just be sure you arent allowing neg and pos wires to touch or anything. the bulbs will fit VERY SNUGLY into the sockets - dont worry about them coming loose, etc.

i can share pics if anyone wants to see
