Which shock/spring or coilover kit for canyons and occasional track?
Which shock/spring or coilover kit for canyons and occasional track?
Hi,
Wondering if anyone out there has some experience with suspension components who could give a recommendation. I'd like to know what those who autocross or road track their Fits have found to work the best between all of the different shocks/springs or coilover offerings out there.
I currently have:
Koni STR.T shocks
Eibach springs
Progressive rear sway bar
Cusco Version 2 lower stress bar
Camber bolts
Moog sway bar links
Spoon Rigid Collars
I'm thinking the next step is to upgrade the shocks and I'd like to hear suggestions. Has anyone tried the Bilstein coil overs? Any other quality brands that will be an improvement for canyon carving and occasional track use?
Thanks in advance!

I can say very little on this topic, save that for high-end suspension people seem to go with Ohlins (I think it was) or Bilstein, of whom I've heard nothing negative.
Rockauto is selling their full kit for the fit, 880 bucks. Comes with progressive rate springs (at least on the rear from what I saw), and I'll admit, it's what I'd do if it was feasible for me. But I don't know performance! Only a bit of basic theory.
The moog stabilizer links were cool and added stiffness, but wore out quick on my car. Keep an eye on 'em!
Apologies that this wasn't the kind of information you were looking for, just wanted to contribute what little I could.

My buddy and I recently installed some Bilstein B3, B4, B6 struts, coils and shocks on two compact cars that are not driven fast. They seemed of good quality and ride fine, not uncomfortable so near OEM ride. You would be looking at higher end parts.
This provides a quick summary of the different Bilstein product lines.

This catalog can help cross reference Bilstein and OEM part numbers. Bilstein changed numbering schemes recently (twice!) so you might find some deals on parts with old #s.
