Just for giggles I called North American Honda to see what they say. Yup, M/T Fits are in the recall too. I will be speaking to my dealer shortly.

 

I just just deposited my reimbursement check from Honda for $860

 

Called my local dealership today. They said they are taking A/T Fits right now since they have the parts. They aren't taking M/T Fits yet because they don't have the parts.

 

Just got my manual transmission ‘12 scheduled for Monday. Parts are able to be ordered by the dealerships now. FYI for the manuals, only the passenger side has a donut ring so they only recalled that side.

 

How did you get reimbursement?

All I have is a receipt for a $100 Carquest axle and a 12 pack of Budlight.

 

What did you pay for the Bud Lite?

 

That's something . I had the shop do one axle , as the car was immobile on the side of the road . I did the other . I submitted the receipt from rockauto for the axle , and from Amazon for the ATF . They paid all of that , plus what I paid for the shop to do it.

I "should" of billed them for my time . I share shop space with a friend and it's run under an LLC as a business for insurance purposes . I could of invoiced Honda ... I should of

 

It took me 2 months of emails and phone calls to get HOA to reimburse me 117 bucks from Honda for one axle. But hey, I got something.
