Head lights upgrades

Hello:
So, by looking at the comments no led/hid headlight bulbs will work 100% correctly in a 2013 fit?

Is this correct?

Rick

Do you know what brand and model you have installed.

Thanks

It's a complicated issue. Obviously you can physically put HID or LED bulbs in a halogen housing, but getting the beam patter correct is NOT easy. You need the bulb to emit light in the same direction as the original halogen bulb so that it hits the reflector in the same locations.

We put HID's in ours way back when and it was a disaster. Put out a ton of light, but blinded other drivers.

However, there are now LED's that are more patterned and could possibly work for both you and others. Here's a good article on the subject - https://www.gizmodo.com.au/2020/03/h...ind-everybody/

Sorry that I don't have an answer as to which bulb would work best for your GE. If you give the swap a try, I suggest only installing one bulb first and compare sides to make sure that the LED bulb is projecting light the same as the halogen bulb.

Get 3000k HID Fogs & 5000k HID High Beams. And aim them high, Faraz Hussain loves people who upgrade their lighting.

But seriously, aftermarket HID kits are a pain. I had to replace mine three times. Finally I went back to the OEM bulbs. If you find a kit that works please be sure to share with us.

Hilarious!

We had the same issue with the same outcome.

Put Sylvania SilverStar Ultra's in it for now. Next step will be a real retrofit from 818 Retrofits. That's the only truly perfect solution.

Philips makes a set of 9003 LEDs. They seem to have a good handle on headlights.

I have a fill HID system in my GE Fit. Just pulled the lens off the headlights and put a projector in there. Provides much clearer light with an awesome pattern.

+1
The difference with an actual retrofit will be better than any LED/HID drop in. What projectors did you end up using and did you take pics of your install?
