Replacing SRS Module

Hey all,

First post after no success searching for this topic.

Dealer reported SRS codes indicating the passenger side SRS sensors needed to replaced and quoted me over $600 to do it. I sourced them online (genuine Honda parts) and replaced them myself for around $50 and half an hour of labor. Had SRS reset done and the codes came back. Took it to an independent shop and they say the Supplemental Restrain System Module has failed and needs to be replaced. Car has never been in an accident or had airbags deploy. SRS Module at the dealer is over $2k but found them online for $90 out of wrecked Fit or $400 for new OEM.

Replacement looks pretty straightforward but does the module need to be reprogrammed to the cars ECU?

Has anyone completed an SRS Module replacement?

TIA

What SRS codes do you have? Normally after an accident with an airbag deployment, the SRS module needs to be replaced. Your current module should be fine imo.

I had an issue with one of my front impact sensors reporting no signal when I reach speeds above 65mph, triggering the SRS fault -- funny enough the SRS light goes away when I restart the car.

During my troubleshooting, I swapped the impact sensors left to right and my problem went away. So bizarre.
My experience was documented here.

Codes were for both passenger side impact sensors. I replaced both and had the codes cleared but they came back the same. I could see one failing I guess but both would be really strange.
