FWIW you could try simply removing the stock muffler -- I did that on my Fit and it sounds really close to some of the HKS catbacks I've heard. It's not as bassy as what I think you're looking for but I'd argue it still sounds pretty good and isn't overly loud (no highway drone and you can't hear it from blocks away).
Bear in mind that the mic is right next to the exhaust so it does sound a little more farty than it does in the interior as the car helps to filter out some of the treble. I also haven't tuned the ECU so the burbles are just lack of backpressure I think.

As for the filter were you looking for a pod filter or just something to replace the stock filter?

I removed my resonator and I honestly love how it sounds. It's not very loud and has some fun little burbles. I'd recommend Yonaka exhaust systems. I would have gotten that but the earliest they could deliver it to me is in August. I'm most likely going with a magnaflow muffler with my current setup.

That actually sounds pretty cool. Is it easy to do? Is the stock exhaust a straight pipe so you just need another straight pipe where the muffler was? It would save me a lot of money and basically im just looking for a better sound that the original. How did you seal it so there is no gas leak?

The KN filter was just for a little more sound from the engine when I step on the gas. I would want an open KN filter Kit but can't seem to find it anywhere.

I just went to a local muffler man and had them take out my resonator and replace it with a pipe. Nothing else was modified and it has no leaks.

I have the HPS intake and Yonaka exhaust that I put on a few months ago. I was very impressed with the exhaust, it was pretty deep and pops and was the only cat back exhaust I could find for this car. It does feel like it has a little more kick, especially at highway speeds in 5th gear.

Hey again. Thanks for the advice. I ended up buying a KN filter to fit the airbox. Not a whole open KN kit. I also ordered a universal exhaust on ebay. Cost only 66 pounds but might need to be welded to fit the car. A little excited of what to expect.
