wheel advice

hey everyone,
I’m looking for sets for my 2011 fit sport and could use some help. So far i’ve narrowed it down to a set of Sparco Terra’s (16x7 +42mm) or a set of Volk racing TE37 sonics (16x6 +42mm). my current stock wheels at 16x6 with a +53mm offset i believe.

I’m new to the whole car community and could use some knowledge on how whatever set i choose will benefit me most or do more harm than good. i would also appreciate advice on tires since i don’t have a great deal of knowledge in that either.

Very different costs. pick whichever of the two you think look better, they’ll both be reasonable for a street car.

Personally, I'd buy te37 sonics but +48.
BTW, you might want to check out Fitment Industries Youtube videos regarding wheels and tires. They cover the subject rather well, I think.

Why the higher offset when 42 already fits easily?

also, I’d advise against fitment industries or any of their content personally.

I'd go with 7 or 7.5" wide regardless of which wheel you choose. No reason to keep the narrow factory width.

I've got the Terras! 16x7+35. I really like them but would suggest considering these first. Sparco FF1 15x7+35. They're reasonable, light, the decreased positive offset won't mess up your scrub radius.
These came out a couple years after my purchase or I'd have gotten them instead. You'll want weight savings with larger wheels to avoid needing extra throttle/getting extra jitters when taking off from a stop. Heavier assemblies increase wear on suspension/driveline components. It's minor compared to what the average dude does to his or her truck, but not nothin'. Just uh. Before you pull the trigger, check out tire options. They're more limited for the 205/50 or 205/55 for the 15" vs the 16" wheel.

I just couldn't justify the volks for myself, even in the not-so-tasteful and cheaper limited edition colors. Take the savings n buy maintenance items, swap in crz suspension, get tools, go see yellowstone.

Edit: oh uh, for tires I recommend yokohama and michelin. there's more options which you can find on tirerack.com, along with plenty of professional (and unprofessional/enthusiast) reviews discussing how a specific tire's design can affect steering manner, comparisons between different tires in the same category, really it's the biggest source for tire info that I've found and I was formerly a tire shop guy for discount/america's.

I don't like straying too far from factory specs.
