Hello! I just purchased a 2010 Fit, and I didn't realize at the time that the 3.5mm auxiliary jack was actually partially damaged/missing. It seems like the little cap piece is gone. When I tried to plug in a cord, it kind of works, but it's loose and the sound cuts in and out when it wiggles around. I've been looking around and can't seem to find just that piece. It seems like there are replacements available for the aux jack in the layout with the Navigation add-on, but not for this layout with the jack in the control panel. Does anyone have any ideas on how to repair this? Is it possible to get just that cover/cap piece? Cover that I don't have
I suspect that pursuit of that cap will lead you to the dealership.
As for the aux port, a stereo shop could help you, otherwise you'd need to get into that dash cover and check the wire. if damaged, cut out the current jack and solder in a new one. Better yet, upgrade the stereo
I had a pretty sharp parts guy that I know, at my local Honda dealership, check into this same issue for me about 6 mos ago. After a few days of looking into it, he found it is not a serviceable part for our radios. I also found that some auxilary cables come slightly undersize and don't fit the auxilary port tightly. This loose connection can also cause the cutting in and out for the sound.
The only way I know of to get a working auxilary plug with a cover is to buy a radio out of a donor car where the owner can verify the auxilary port works on that radio.
If you are good at soldering...I have the one you need. It's off my 2010 Fit.
I de-soldered it and it's in perfect condition. There is no cover with this one...never had one.
