Mystery Clanking Engine Noise 2011 Fit

Hello Everyone!

I have been driving my Fit for about 6 years now. I have had no major issues, the only thing not working is the AC but it has been that way for a couple years now. I try to do the regular maintenance like oil changes. Over the last several months, this clanking engine noise has been getting louder and louder. It is the worst when idling and at low speeds. I usually stop noticing it when I start accelerating. It does not go away after the car has warmed up either. Here is a video of the engine. You can hear it almost immediately in the beginning of the video and then it returns to the normal idling noise. Any thoughts? I'm happy to take it to a mechanic but I would like to go in with some ideas first.

Video here:

Thanks for any help and I will try to answer follow up questions if needed.

Noise

Sounds like a bearing noise. Listen with a length of tubing held to your ear. Could be the tensioner pulley, water pump or alternator. Best of luck, Clay

I've got zero experience with bottom end work so far. One day I hope to have a project that merits such efforts.
Check that oil level.. My first thought, before reading the peer post, is oil starvation. I can't recall my tending to any faults of this sort. Like, did the vehicle sit for an extended period before this start up? Is there a chance of fluid cross-contamination (odd colored residue, foam, on the oil or coolant fill caps)? Have fluids ever been allowed to get significantly low, that is to say, below the minimum line?

Here's a link to a website showing and explaining how engine oil circulates through an engine. Please forgive me if your experiences have already provided you this information.

Remove the belt and let it run. If still noisy then it’s the engine. If quiet, spin all the pulleys by hand and feel for roughness.
