So, I've got a 2011 honda fit sport manual transmission 120k miles. The other week it started chugging in gear 1 and 2. I ignored it for a day or two like a moron then one day it almost stalled out. The check engine light started blinking and I pulled over. I was only a mile away from home so I started it back up and drove it back home. As long as I gave it plenty of throttle before switching gears it did fine.

I figure it could be the spark plugs I bought off amazon or it could be old ignition coils. One coil is sorta rusty.

I bought NGK iridium plugs and hitachi ignition coils off of rock atuo. I just installed three of them. The fourth ignition coil bolt is stripped and I'm waiting for the bolt biters to come in.

So I started this bad boy up and, damn, it smells like gas in the cabin. Kinda strong too. I must've had the thing on for 1 minute or less. What did I do wrong? What do I do to fix this?

 

Might wanna recheck plugs, torque to 20.

 

Could the smell be coming from the tank? It's under the driver's seat I think. Maybe a pump issue or something? Did you pull any codes?
