Cowling hinge covers

I was going to tackle the spark plug change but no amount of pulling or twisting will remove the hinge cover pieces on the corners. I am certail if I put enough force on them they will surely break. What is the trick? Looked underneat but see no way to get to the clip to release it

I got them off but broke both white clips. Good news was I removed cowling and none of those clips broke.

Well plugs are changed and put new clips in cowl rather than use old ones. A rather PITA job for such a simple repair.

Now I need to locate the clips for the hinge cover trim piece

I broke my clips too and ended up losing one while driving. $25 on ebay to replace one.
